Privacy Policy

GameKiro ("GameKiro", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by Cosmic Store LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use gamekiro.com (the "Service"), why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the Service:

• Account information — username, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
• Optional profile information — anything you choose to add, such as a bio, avatar image, Discord/Steam/PSN usernames, or a personal website link. None of these fields are required.
• Content you create — forum threads and posts, game reviews, direct messages, follows, and other activity you generate while using the Service.
• Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, timestamps) used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting. We do not use this data for advertising.

We do not run any analytics or advertising trackers on GameKiro, and we do not collect any data beyond what is listed above.

2. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account, and to keep you signed in.
• To display your public profile, posts, and other content to other users, as intended by a community platform.
• To send account-related emails (for example, a welcome email when you sign up). We do not send marketing email.
• To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorized access (for example, rate limiting and login-attempt monitoring).
• To operate error monitoring (Sentry) so we can find and fix bugs. Our error monitoring is configured not to collect personally identifiable request data.

3. Cookies

We use only two cookies, both required for the Service to function: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and a CSRF-protection cookie that helps secure form submissions. Neither is used for tracking or advertising. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

4. Third parties we rely on

• Google Fonts — loads a web font; this causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers.
• htmx (via a public CDN) — a JavaScript library used for the site's interactive features.
• Cloud file storage — uploaded images (avatars, cover images) are stored with our storage provider.
• Sentry — error monitoring to help us catch and fix bugs, configured to exclude personal data by default.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.

5. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data (for example, under the GDPR if you are in the EU/UK, or the CCPA/CPRA if you are a California resident). We currently handle these requests manually rather than through an automated self-service tool — to make a request, email us at contact@gamekiro.com and we will respond as required by applicable law. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep certain records by law.

7. Children's privacy

GameKiro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and login-attempt monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
